Can I Bring Food Into Korea In My Air Baggage?

I’ll be going to Japan soon, and have been told about a gourmet grocery store near our hotel.
If I buy a few things, can I bring them back to Korea in my luggage?
Fruits and veggies? Dry goods? Does it make a difference?
Thanks.

ok, on my last trip to japan I brought back a lot of food items.
and the sniffer dog pegged me at Incheon.
Everything that had been opened, and any produce item was taken. (this was in March of 2007)
all unopened dry goods stayed with me though.

Yes you can. As long as you seal them properly to prevent odours.

The only time I have ever been questioned about food is the one time I had to land at Osan airbase. At that time they made me dump anything open but sealed prepackaged food was good.
I have never even been inspected at Incheon. I think it is due to my rugged good looks.
I would not get too spendy on the fruits and veggies.
