Gourmet, Gourmand Are French Words For Connoisseur Of Food, & Glutton, Respectively. What Are They In English?

As gourmet is defined with another French word, maybe that’s your problem? A gourmet is someone who really appreciates the ‘fine art of food’ - how it tastes, how it’s presented, where it comes from, eventually right through to historical and literary associations.
A gourmand can be a glutton (someone who just pigs out on anything in great quantities), but is also used familiarly to designate someone with a sweet tooth. Can be masculin or feminine (gourmande)
(I don’t think you can say ‘gourmette’ for a woman gourmet.)
PS Just remembered “foodie” - that might work for in some contexts.

Same. We just borrowed them directly from the French.
