Is this a mixed ingredient food? If so, you won’t have a problem because he will just pick out the things he likes best out of it.
That being said, I recommend a good quality, block-type food.
This way they get all their vitamins and minerals in a clean food that can’t be picked over. You will also find that their cage stays cleaner without them pushing the food they don’t want to eat out of the way to get to the good stuff. Mixed ingredient food promotes obesity as well, because they usually take the tastiest, highest fat food from the mix.
I use Hagen Extrusions and my rats go wild for it.
Good luck, hope this helps
Yes i done that and mine are fine.
But a few days before you do this start mixing the new food with the old food so the hamsters can get used to the change.
Good Luck
It is, just slowly mix it in with there current food until you finally just replace it. I know some people perfer block food, but I could never get my mice or hamsters to eat it. Kaytee tends to have the best food for your rodents, so if possible switch to that instead. =3 Otherwise I think they will be fine.
Honestly I would switch to either Kaytee pet block or Mazuri pet block (I recommend Mazuri). The block diets are much better for the hamsters than the seeds. They get all the nutrition offered in the food out of every bite. With the mixed bags they pick out what they want and leave the rest.
Both are sold at Petsmart.
yeh should be ok
