Nutro Max Cat Gourmet Classics Canned Food? If It’s On The Shelf Again Is It Safe?

I was at the pet store today and saw some Nutro Max Cat Gourmet Classics canned cat food. I rotate through a lot of different brands and flavors since I have kittens and want them to get used to different foods. They eat Fancy Feast, Wellness, Purina Selects, Avoderm, Authority too. This Nutro Max Cat was one food my other cats had liked before. The label shows the ingredients as Chicken Broth, Chicken, Chicken Liver, Wheat Gluten.. Venison, etc. I know this was on the recalled list months ago, but if it’s showing up in the stores again . . .
Is it safe?

Is ALL wheat gluten bad(besides the carbohydrates)?
What about 4 lb. bag of any Natural Choice® Complete Care® Cat Food?
I can get a coupon for a free bag from their website:http://www.nutroproducts.com/yourfamily/

I feed some of the brands you mentioned. I am not aware of any wheat gluten in Wellness or Avoderm. I also use Natural Balance, Nature’s Variety Instinct, CA Natural and Evanger.

I have not heard that it is safe. Do not bother getting it.

Technically it may be safe, but I personally would have a hard time trusting them, and unless there’s a compelling reason to use that food, I’d pass it by.
Your cat may have liked it, but it’s not like he’s really going to miss it. Cats have very few taste buds so it’s not the equivalent of removing pizza from a human’s diet! LOL
If it contains wheat gluten, I’d pass on it. You’re feeding other good brands so there’s no need to include this one.
As for the dry, go ahead and get it. You can always use it for the occasional treat.

Wasn’t the recall about a bad batch of gluten that came in from China? If they hadn’t sorted that out it wouldn’t be back on the shelves. They don’t want to get sued!

I don’t think you nshould give them that food because I don;t think is safe.
